Twenty-five prophets are named in the Qur'an, from Adam to Muhammad ﷺ. The tree below shows their relationships as recorded, using line styles that are honest about what is directly stated, what comes from traditional accounts, and where many generations are compressed.
A note on this tree. The Qur'an names these prophets and describes their stories; it does not set out a detailed genealogical record. The connections shown draw on the traditional scholarly accounts and classical tafsīr. Exact generational distances, particularly across the patriarchal line before Ibrāhīm, involve considerable scholarly variation, the dotted lines represent this honestly.
